Oh, fall in Virginia…there’s nothing quite like it! And let me tell you, the fall foliage was showing off during Madison and Garrett’s session with their sweet pup, Poppy. I mean, just look at the first image…it’s as if some of the trees are on FIRE!

Every session is special, but this one in particular was quite fun! Garrett and I go back to our early college days and hadn’t seen each other since before graduation from Virginia Tech!

When Madison initially contacted me to do portraits with them, I didn’t put the pieces of the puzzle together immediately. She mentioned she had actually found me while browsing local wedding venues, Sweeney Barn in particular, from a styled shoot I had done last winter. Then she saw that Garrett followed me on Instagram and ask him if he knew me…which, of course he did!

It’s so cool to catch up and keep up with old friends. Seeing Garrett and Madison together was so sweet. Garrett is very sarcastic, but Madison is so patient and the perfect balance for him. They are renovating their home while growing their careers after meeting on Hinge, the app whose tagline is, “Designed to be Deleted.” In the case of Madison and Garrett, Hinge…mission accomplished! Hearing them talk about their first date was so sweet…they both joked on one another that the other was a little too eager to go on a second date. And here they are two years later, still going on alllllll the winery dates.

Their pup, Poppy, tagged along with us on their session and even stole the show at some points. When couples ask me if their pup can accompany us to their session, my answer is always a resounding YES because I know they’re part of the family too.

Garrett, we sure have come a long way from intramural soccer games and procrastinating homework with Hokie tailgates. You have a way cooler hair cut then you did back then. And I’m so glad you found your perfect match and you guys were able to prove Hinge’s algorithms truly work.
