As a prior English teacher, I love telling each of my couple's love story. Each story is unique and in a culmination of love and a little planning, the wedding day brings that love to life in front of family and friends. As a lover of heirlooms and legacies, it's a joy to be alongside each of my couples as they create memories that will last forever for their children and grandchildren!

These two are expecting their little boy in three weeks or less! When Annie contacted me about shooting their maternity portraits, I started doing the math…we were definitely due close together! And then when she told me her due date–October 5th–I got so excited! That is our sweet Huxley’s birthday, so we already know it’s a great day to be born.

Let’s see, I have known Annie since I was…10? 12? She was the sister to one of my best middle school friends, Emma. We didn’t talk much back then because Annie was the mature, calm, intuitive one. Emma and I were just a little crazy, especially when we played soccer together, which was all the time!

Although Emma and I grew apart, we stayed in contact with one another through social media. This is how I knew Annie had gotten married and was now expecting with her husband Tyler!

When I met Tyler for the first time, I thought it was clear that he and Annie were a good match. He has a goofy side that balances Annie’s serious nature. They have recently moved into their new house and are making it a home just in time to welcome their son. Her favorite part about their new neighborhood–the ice cream truck! They have already visited multiple times and she is currently known as, “the pregnant one!” But not for much longer!

Our session at Sky Meadows State Park had to be rescheduled due to rain, but when we finally made it happen, it could not have been better weather! Despite it being August, it was surprisingly mild. Because we were on the side of a large mountain, the breeze was nice and we even stumbled upon a sunflower patch in a small garden! This totally fit Annie’s boho vibe, so we definitely utilized it to the fullest.

Sky Meadows was a great host with rolling hills and epic mountain views, beautiful structures and buildings, a garden, and the most beautifully epic tree on top of a knoll that allowed us to capture some of my favorite maternity shots I have ever taken!

To Annie and Tyler, thank you for trusting me to document this part of your family’s story! I wish you THREE all the best as you transition to this new phase in your family. It’s a beautiful one, and I can’t wait to see you all become parents!
