As a prior English teacher, I love telling each of my couple's love story. Each story is unique and in a culmination of love and a little planning, the wedding day brings that love to life in front of family and friends. As a lover of heirlooms and legacies, it's a joy to be alongside each of my couples as they create memories that will last forever for their children and grandchildren!

An Annapolis Easter | Annapolis, MD | United States Naval Academy

Personal

April 22, 2019

back to blog

Easter celebrations were extra sweet this year with our Huxley Rae around! The Easter bunny stopped at our house and she was gifted a basket full of toys and [empty] Easter eggs. It seems Caleb and I got into the candy before it could make it to her. No harm, no foul though, seeing as how she still has yet to cut teeth!

Our family was lucky enough to have a two-day celebration. Saturday we visited with my mother and grandmother who came to see us in our home. The time was full of cuddles and basket opening!

The next day we headed to Annapolis to see Caleb’s sister who is currently a plebe at the Naval Academy. After attending church service at the Academy Chapel, we enjoyed a picnic at Sandy Point National Park with some members of her company and family. It was such a nice day that I passed out on a beach towel in the middle of the park and took an hour-long nap, which in mom world, is unheard of. Magical, I tell ya!

Throughout all of that, my favorite part of this holiday was seeing the bond between Huxley and Caleb. After a seven-week course in California, he was finally back with us in time to see Huxley wear the Easter dress he had picked out for her when she was first born. We didn’t know if it would fit when we bought it, but he loved the Kate Middleton-esque jacket that came with it. With her initials being HRH, we thought it was fitting, and luckily, it did, in fact, fit!
