Just because. That was the reason for this shoot. These types of shoots that don’t have a specific occasion, but sometimes that makes them even more special. It’s a session simply to celebrate the love of two people.
When Kayleigh first contacted me about a session, I asked her what the occasion was and she told me there wasn’t really an occasion. She and John had been married for three years and they had never had any professional photos taken. These two have a romantic story—met and married within six months! Since then they have adopted two fur babies and went through a military move from Louisiana to North Carolina.
Of course, every military family has a special spot in my military spouse heart, so I couldn’t wait to create some beautiful images for them. I am so thankful that they were adventurous and agreed to meet Caleb and I at Fort Macon State Park, which is about an hour drive from where they’re currently living. It was so worth it! If you are a local photographer, you MUST visit Fort Macon—a compositional goldmine! We ventured in, around, and on top of the fort, then traveled over to the beach to catch the last few rays of golden light.
But you know my favorite part about this session and this business?! My clients become friends. Remember I said Kayleigh is from Louisiana…she makes gumbo…and has already invited us over for some! Lord have mercy…my stomach already aches because of how much I’m going to eat!
Next time you’re thinking of something to do for your significant other, book a session. Just because.
